Counting Zeros to ring in 2011

Sacred Oath has not yet completed a new video for the single Meet Your Maker from the brand new “World On Fire” album (2010). A new video is expected to be released in the spring.

World On Fire climbs to #8 on iTunes
The new album from Sacred Oath – World On Fire – has risen to #8 on the iTunes Metal Chart in just 2 days.
Last year Sacred Oath peaked at #59 with the release of their self titled album. Both albums were released independently by Angel Thorne Music, a small label run by the singer Rob Thorne. In 2009 Sacred Oath signed briefly with World Sound Label Group, but soon thereafter left the label over contract disputes.
“The way things are going, maybe we don’t need a label,” said Rob in a statement issued for this press release. “We only seem to get into trouble whenever we go down that road. I’m just happy people are actually paying fo the album. We worked hard on this one.”

2nd single released
U.S. true metal torch-bearers Sacred Oath have released a second single from their brand new album World On Fire. The song, “Sweet Agony,” can be heard as a free stream on YouTube, Facebook, and Myspace.
“We really feel strongly that this is the best work we’ve done yet,” says Rob Thorne, vocalist/guitarist and producer for the band. “And yet we’re struggling, more now than ever, to survive in this business. We need more metal fans to know about Sacred Oath, and these YouTube singles seem like an ideal way to get the word out.”
Like the first single “Meet Your Maker,” the new single “Sweet Agony” is part of the Dune concept that the album draws its inspiration from. “There are many parallels to be drawn between the futuristic world of Dune and the global crises we face here today,” said Thorne in a recent radio interview. “If Dune was ahead of its time, well, sadly it was less than we thought.” American author Frank Herbert first published Dune in 1968.

Sacred Oath will release the brand new album World On Fire as an iTunes exclusive on Tuesday October 26th – just in time for Halloween. The deluxe bundle includes 11 songs and a PDF of the cover art, lyrics and liner notes.
The album was produced by singer/guitarist Rob Thorne at his studio in Connecticut during February and March this year. “I couldn’t be happier with how this recording turned out,” says Thorne, who has produced all but one of Sacred Oath’s albums. “It was important to me that World On Fire have its own sonic character. That can be a challenge when making albums so close to each other, but this album stands on its own. I hope the fans will love it.”
World On Fire is Sacred Oath’s fourth studio album. Running time is 58:11. Track listing is as follows:

This CD marks a return to the concept album format for Sacred Oath. Most of the songs are based on the popular sci fi novel Dune by Frank Herbert. The cover art was painted by famed sci fi artist Michael Whelan (Stephen King, Sepultura, Evile). “This cover is perfect,” said Thorne in a recent interview. “I was introduced to Michael at an Evile concert this summer and knew right away that I wanted to get his work on a Sacred Oath album.”
