New concept album almost finished

The band was back in the studio over the winter working on a new album to follow up the success of their self-titled 2009 release “Sacred Oath.”

“This record practically wrote itself,” says Thorne, who is also producing the album at his Angel Thorne studio in Connecticut.  “We had some downtime over the winter and we just banged this one out.  It’s becoming a bad habit.”

Fifteen songs were recorded in February and March, and at least 10 will make the final cut of a concept album based on characters and events from “Dune,” the popular sci-fi novel written by Frank Herbert in the 1960′s.  “There are so many parallells between the world Herbert created in ‘Dune’ and the grim state of affairs we find ourselves in today,” says Thorne.  “The space messiah fantasy is a great setting for a heavy metal rant against the corruption here on Wall Street and in our own government.”

No release date has been confirmed for the album yet.
